Open to non-professional BBQ enthusiasts, this comp is perfect for backyard cooks who want to test themselves in a fun, friendly setting. Burnt Barrel’s current festival messaging positions the event as community-focused and welcoming, so this section should feel inviting rather than overly formal.

COMP STYLE
This is a relaxed KCBS-inspired backyard comp with the focus on fun, fairness, and bloody good BBQ. It’s built to be approachable for first-time teams while still giving everyone a proper crack at competition cooking.

JUDGING
Entries will be judged using KCBS-inspired guidelines, with attention given to:
