🔥Smokin’ Barrel Fest is back for 2026🔥

BIGGER, SMOKIER, and built for the whole family!

This is a FREE public event, with kids’ activities running all weekend long, so bring the crew and settle in. Wander the grounds, grab a cold beer from the Carpark Bar, hunt down your favourite sweet and savoury treats, and soak up live music while the pits run hot.

Across the weekend, you’ll catch live cooking demonstrations, with pitmasters sharing their tips, tricks and plenty of smoke. On Saturday, kick back and catch the action with a big-screen screening of the AFL Grand Final — beers in hand and BBQ on the plate. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Then on Sunday, the gloves come off and the tongs come out as teams throw down in what promises to be the most epic KCBS-sanctioned BBQ competition

this side of Kansas City itself. Expect serious skill, serious flavour, and serious bragging rights on the line!

Settle in at Burnt Barrel in Chapman Valley on Saturday 26 September as we screen the 2026 AFL Grand Final LIVE on the big screen in our carpark event space as part of Smokin Barrel Fest. The game bounces down at 12:30pm AWST, so grab your mates and your team colours and get ready for three epic hours of footy.

Entry is FREE — just roll in, find a spot and soak up the atmosphere. Enjoy an ice‑cold beer, epic low‑and‑slow BBQ, and all the Smokin Barrel Fest competition festivities happening around you while you watch every mark, goal and dodgy ump call.

On this micro tour you will get a behind the scenes look at this family owned and operated restaurant nestled in the hills of the Chapman Valley, just a short 30 minute drive from the heart of the Shore Leave Festival. Included in the tour is a tasting board of Burnt Barrel’s signature meats paired with a paddle of their home-brewed beers. What’s not to love?! (Unless perhaps you’re a vegetarian…)
 

While at Burnt Barrel you will also be given the opportunity to view and purchase other local produce on display.
 

Burnt Barrel is famous for its low and slow smoked Kansas-City Style BBQ and beers brewed on site.

This 2.5 hour micro tour is a Shore Leave exclusive and not to be missed!
